Positive Birth Experience Workshop1st Thursday of Each Month6:30p.m.- 9:30p.m.$55.00 per couple
Don't miss this highly recommended class for first time moms and their coaches/partners. This is a great refresher class for more experienced parents as well. Class will center around training the partner/coach and giving them tools to assist mom during labor and delivery. A lot of partners want to help mom during labor but don't know how. This class covers an array of topics including the stages of labor and delivery, and various breathing, relaxation, and comfort techniques. Also covered will be massage, how to use the birthing balls, and various positions to help ease pain during the laboring process without medical interventions. Bring a Birthing Ball, if possible.
Breastfeeding Class2nd Thursday of Each Month6:30p.m.- 9:00p.m.$40.00 per couple
This class will help moms and their support persons develop unique skills to make breastfeeding a rewarding, satisfying, and successful experience. Topics will cover why breast is best, the benefits of breastfeeding, breastfeeding techniques, comfort positions, ensuring a proper latch, paying attention to babies feeding cues including what to look for. Partner support for the breastfeeding mother, and proper nutrition while nursing will also be explored. We will cover the best methods of pumping and storing breast milk as well as address common breastfeeding issues, solutions and more! Bring a doll or stuffed animal (or your new baby!).
Newborn Care Basics3rd Thursday of Each Month6:30p.m.- 9:00p.m.$40.00 per couple
The baby is here, what do we do now! New parents often feel alone and insecure with all the demands of a new baby. This can often be a confusing and frustrating time for parents when they are already dealing with so much including the stress of recovery. This hands-on class will help parents adjust to the enormous changes in their lives. It will provide the knowledge and tools that parents need in order to feel confident and successful in their new roles. We will cover basic newborn care and parenting skills. Topics will include common newborn characteristics, bonding, feeding cues, soothing baby, bathing, infant nutrition, infant massage, diapering options, and much..much..more.
"Baby Wearing"..What's Hot and What's Not4th Thursday of Each Month6:30p.m.- 9:00p.m.$35.00 per couple
Baby wearing is more than just purchasing a commercial carrier, it is teaching the necessary skills parents need to make baby feel comfortable, secure, and safe. A great carrier will help a new dad put a fussy newborn to sleep. It brings a new mom freedom to use a computer, make lunch, or shop with both hands. There are so many carriers available on the market today which one is the right one for you? Come and learn the differences in carriers and how to properly "wear" them. You and your baby will be so glad you did!  Includes demonstrations, video and hands-on training.
